SUNNYSIDE AVENUE RESERVE

Public BBQ

Tucked away in New South Wales, Sunnyside Avenue Reserve proves that sometimes the best discoveries are the quiet ones. This compact sanctuary offers a surprisingly complete family experience, though you'll want to plan your visit carefully around the sun. The reserve's electric barbecue and picnic facilities provide a proper foundation for a family feed, while the connecting playground keeps the kids entertained with interesting swings and a charming little bike track. The green spaces offer breathing room, and there's even outdoor exercise equipment for those inclined toward fitness - though fair warning, the gear becomes scorching hot under the Australian sun, and shade is frustratingly absent in that area. The recent addition of shade trees near the children's area shows promise, but whoever decided to plant that one tree needs a geography lesson. Still, ample parking and benches make this a practical stop for locals and visitors alike. Just remember to bring your own loo roll - there are no toilets on site, which seems an odd oversight for such a family-friendly spot.
